This was my first MC, and I wanted to try one, knowing it probably wasn't my thing. They aren't, but I still enjoyed the book. The spice in this book was good and steamy. Wolfe/Gabriel is obsessed and addicted to Brinley. She had said she always craved a man who wanted her beyond measure, couldn't keep his hands off her, and desired her more than anything. Though I felt it was more lust than love, their relationship could have benefited from more development “Why would I choose not to end you right here? Why do I want to take you and mark you and keep you for my own?” “It’s the same reason you’re fucking soaked...soaked all for me.” “The poetic justice is that we always crave what we’re not.” “I live to take what I shouldn’t want, what I shouldn’t deserve. I never question why I want things.” That split second is all my body needs for that basic, primal instinct to take over. My instinct to hunt her, my instinct to completely own her. Fuck. I could survive without food or water, but now that I’ve had them, I couldn’t survive without these fucking lips. I want him to own me. I want him to need me so badly that it’s a violent, uncontrollable want, a raging fire that can’t be stopped. Love is just a word—this is something more. This is an unadulterated need. I need this woman more than I need air. When this is done, I’m gonna tell her just that, but until then my only mission is to keep her safe.
