3.5 ⭐️ This was alright but it didn’t wow me. There was nothing wrong with it but I couldn’t form any kind of connection with the characters, it felt like there was something missing. I don’t think we really got to know them, maybe there was a lack of depth to their personalities? One thing I will say though, is that Rebecca Ross has a wonderful way with words and I never have a problem imagining any of the worlds she creates. Her descriptive language is completely unrivalled. I highly recommend the audiobook. I read half and then finished with audio, but the audio really helped me to visualise the world and characters more. The narrators were perfect and did such a brilliant job of bringing the characters to life. Overall, it was probably my least favourite book I’ve read by her, but it was still worth the read and I enjoyed getting to know the Divine Rivals gods a bit.
