Word Salad I don't even know where to start with this review!!!! I ate this book up. I could not put it down. I only wasn't reading when I was working, and even then, I managed to sneak in a chapter or two!!!! How has this book not been read and reviewed more than this??? Everyone is missing out, and I sincerely hope that even just 1 more review here can help this book get some more attention. I laughed, I cried, I nearly had a heart attack from the slow build of tension, and I fell in love with a family just as surely as the main character Neith did. These characters are so beautiful, and full of heart, and so intensely human. I don't want to let them go, snd I am already waiting despretely for the sequel. This book is so much more than the summary makes it out to be: at the beginning, it's a story about a girl trying to live her life the best she can in a world where she can only really look forward to dying because there is no hope left for her or anyone else. But then hope finds her, and it's surrounded by so many threats that I'm shocked Neith was able to stay so strong for so long. But then the story becomes about survival, and family, and choices that will change the world, for better or for worse. You fall in love with these characters and their struggle, and your heart breaks for the fight they face and you want nothing more than for it all work out. But until the sequel comes out, we won't really know if everything is going to he okay, because this world is so big and rich and full of complications that one book could never handle it all. I feel pretty confident that things will work out though, because they have to for characters as wonderful as this.
