I really wanted to love this book, but the writing style made it a tough read for me. The prose was overly elaborate and the descriptions drifted into abstraction, making it really hard to stay grounded in what was going on. That said, the story itself is haunting and heartbreaking, and I can see why it resonates with so many readers. I just struggled to fully enjoy it because of how it was written.
