Very charming and seeing an F/F Harlequin with a Stereotypical Harlequin Title and a Stereotypical Harlequin Cover is simply delightful. Unfortunately it was undercut at times by the characters having opinions about their own era that felt a little too shallow and modern, instead of seeming like an actual thought process of someone educated in the Regency era. Some of the hot takes really felt a little smug and lampshadey, and In historical set books I like to see more obscure referents than things I scroll past on Tumblr every day. But on the whole I quite enjoyed it and it was great how much Charlotte undeniably fucked since the Implausibly Virgin Heroine is a main line romance novel staple and it was just so refreshing to have a lady rake.
