I was skeptical about continuing this duology, but I’m so glad I did. I have a much greater appreciation for some of the characters that I was unsure of, namely Raikama. I thought this was a great conclusion and I was crying by the end. I love Lim’s writing style, her world-building and the very realistic ways that her characters interact with one another. I genuinely could not decide who better suited Shiori. (A part of me still thinks the Seryu plot would’ve been an intriguing spin on this story, and I wish we found out if Elang ever found his heart or not. And what of Gen?) My main critique is that I feel certain plot points change at a breakneck pace. There are many times that we’re told something is going to happen one way just for the plan to quickly change. And the explanations given can be a little confusing. Still, I really liked this book.
