Beautifully written in places and genuinely horrifying in others... especially the scenes inside the House, where reality bends and the characters are haunted by their own worst thoughts. That said, I didn’t really connect with the characters. I often wasn’t sure why we were supposed to sympathize with certain choices. The book feels more like a raw, emotional outpouring than a traditional story; which makes sense, but it didn’t fully work for me.
