It surprised no one when Sarah and Jack married right out of high school; not because Sarah was pregnant at 19, but because they had been inseparable since sophomore year.  Sarah gave birth to twins, Mark and Julie, and a year later, Jacob.  They had the 'mom and apple pie' life.  Their picturesque dream life turned into a nightmare when on a warm summer's day at the local park, the penny dropped.  What would forever be referred to as The Incident changed their family forever.

This book was a wild ride, I was not sure what to expect going in (as I did not read the blurb, just picked it up as the next in the series) but I was pleasantly surprised. Being the third in a series I thought it would just be more of the same, a murder happens and we figure out who did it, however the paranormal elements were done subtly for the most part and it did feel like it fit well, all things considered. I had been wondering when/how Shuller would become involved, and his involvement (while brief) did bring the main story to a turning point.
