“Maybe that’s all love is, in the end. An endless tempting of fate.” ~ I was expecting a lot more from that to be honest. It was interesting enough and I really enjoyed the writing but there was something missing for me to fully connect with the characters and feel for them. I ended up taking a lot longer than I normally do to finish because I never felt the need to pick it up. The need to finish was only because it was botm in my book club and the month is now over. Good read overall and a fun concept but I would have enjoyed it more if they had more connection in the current timeline so I could have been more invested in their story. I did however love that the main characters were forever changing genders it was a fun edition. 🌶️ 0/5

*❝My heart is a haunted house surrounded by a moat of my own digging, kept empty of warmth so I won't miss it come winter.❞* ❥ My thoughts The premise of this book and ones written similarly is one I will immediately pick up; star-crossed lovers, reincarnation, timey-wimey. Unfortunately, it didn't wow me like I thought it might. To be completely honest, the premise and the poetic writing were possibly this book's best attributes. Much like a poem, the words are beautiful but without the full story, my heart is not fully captured. Both main characters, Evelyn and Arden, felt two-dimensional. The author wanted you to see their depth and their longing but failed to encapsulate that no matter how many lives we find them in. Either we weren't in their past lives long enough or we were pulled from their current story too frequently. The story simultaneously needed more depth but also more intrigue, and I'm not even sure that that makes sense. All said and done, this is by no means a shit book, it just didn't quite reach four stars for me. ❥ Trigger warnings Murder, Death, Violence, Cancer, War, Death of parent, Sexual content, Torture, Forced institutionalization [❥Connect with me on instagram❥](https://www.instagram.com/inkstainedemotions?igsh=aTh6eTZ6dGwxMXpy&utm_source=qr)

📚 Reading Between the Vines: 📚 Click Here to Join a Fun Discord Book Club “Like the sway of the sea and the tug of the tides, love is a moving, eternal thing. Let us not be afraid of the wax and the wane, the rise and the fall, the eternal undertow. Each time our souls meet, let us submerge our bodies in the bright blue cold, and let the waves make us anew.” This was really beautifully written, I love the flowery poetic vibes this gives off, but this is also really dark and I felt as if their love was more like a Stockholm thing. I was questioning like why do ya’ll even like each other for most of the book… Then when i got to about 80%, it was at that point I really got into it and started to get some answers. While I do feel like this one was a little overhyped, I do really love the idea of this, even if it seemed like it was missing something, unsure what exactly, but the tragedy of death, and suffering, and the endless cycle of inevitability held my interest. "These flashes of past lives felt like tiny splintered fragments of a gigantic mosaic, the full picture always beyond my reach. Like the twist of a kaleidoscope, rearranging the pattern every time I tried too hard to study it." 🌶️ 1.5/5 There is one chapter where they are intimate, but it’s not super graphic, its giving let’s bang one (or 2) out before the world ends vibes.
