FABLE AND THEO'S STORY!! I've been dying for this since the first book OMG . . . . . . 🌷dual POV 🌷childhood friends to rivals to lovers 🌷fake dating 🌷forced proximity 🌷small town 🌷family group chat I loved every minute of this perfect book. I laughed out loud and teared up- any book that makes me feel a full range of emotions is an immediate favorite- I'd give this 6 stars if I could. Theo's trauma and Fable's grief were handled with such care, without sugar coating the ugly realities of growing up with a abusive parent, or losing a loved one to dementia. I love the fact Fable and Theo's families are so intertwined that there was never any secret or vague hinting about Theo's abusive father- it's completely off page, but it's treated as a fact they overcame, not a secret they needed to hide from- and I really appreciated that the abuser never even gets a name bc he doesnt deserve that much attention. Reading this book felt like coming home in all the best ways and I'm actually upset Fern River isn't real because I want to go there right now. I immediately put the audiobook on hold at my library as soon as i finished because I already want to reread it & I can't wait to hear how Victoria Connolly and Tim Paige bring Fable and Theo to life.
