Grim Haven: The Curse Between Us

Tiffany Daune

3.79

Some curses can’t be broken. Some love refuses to die.

Olena hunts werewolves with a crossbow and a single rule. No mercy. It's the only way to survive when the same curse sleeps in her blood.

But when a shadow spell strikes her mother and forbidden magic becomes her only hope, Olena must turn to Valentyn—her former hunting partner and the ex who destroyed her.

Working together means confronting the secrets that tore them apart while hiding what she did the night the isle burned. It means pretending her heart doesn't still betray her every time he's near.

As ancient werewolf packs circle the shores and someone sends messages that threaten to expose her, Olena realizes the monsters in the forest aren't the only ones with fangs.

The beast is waking. The lies are unraveling.

And mercy might be the most dangerous choice of all.

Perfect for listeners who love werewolf romance, second-chance love with bite, and morally gray heroines who hunt the monsters they're destined to become.

This had a bit of an eerie vibe to it which completely helped with the overall feel to the story. The world building is vivid and darkly enchanting, full of witches, curses, wolves, and dangerous secrets. From the very beginning it was clear that Olena is absolutely the hunter here. She's completely driven by loyalty and a fierce determination that make her impossible not to root for. The dynamic between Olena and Valentyn was weighed down by the dreaded miscommunication trope, which isn't my favorite tbh, but I did enjoy the tension and build it up it helped to provide. Overall, this was a good start to a dark fantasy romance with an excellent twist at the end. Thank you to The Nerd Fam for the gifted eARC. #thecursebetweenus #thenerdfam
