This collection of short stories had me captivated from the first page to the last, each story was incredibly unique and well thought out to deliver some insane twists and turns. •Requiem (Marianne Grey): This story read much like a monologue as the fmc was the only character to really speak, but the story was still really well executed and it was fascinating to read. •Nourishment (Gareth Ian Davies): I found myself trying to figure this one out as I read it but I could never have imagined it taking the turn that it did! It was a super fascinating concept, although I found myself just as confused as the main characters with regards to the contract. •The Pale Mother (Nova B Quinn): This tale had me captivated. At first I thought Lathra might’ve been an homage to the story of La Llorona, as the story progressed and we learned more, I realised it was actually much darker and more intriguing! The spice aspect of this story was well written and I loved reading it. I also enjoyed the songs that accompanied each chapter! •The Hours in Between (Memo Rable/Fortuna Lux): I’m unsure how to review this story without spoiling it for others, I greatly enjoyed reading it and it is very well written. I now feel compelled to read more by this author! •The Blooming Curse (Hannah Gardiner): The concept of this story was promising, though I feel like it would’ve worked better as a longer story as it felt a little rushed. I love the idea of the glass lillies and the homage to Norse mythology, I would definitely read and enjoy this more if it were a full length novel. (To be continued)
