Cort has been, literally, fighting for his life since he was a child. He is going into his last fight and looking forward to what comes next. Anya is a sacrifice for this fight. She will go to the winner and they will do what they please with her. After winning the fight, Cort takes Anya, and they spend a month alone on the Rock. During this month, Cort and Anya eventually get into a routine of training and living together. Then, Cort's camp joined them on the Rock for 3 more months, where they must follow certain rules and train. During their time on the Rock, Cort and Anya develop a relationship, and it changes a lot for them both. This story was amazing. I loved the character and world building so much, and I felt so engrossed in the story the whole time I was reading. Received an ARC and give my honest review
