After leaving Maart in Rio 7 years ago, Irina is now living in Miami and, in her own way, doing pretty well. She has her own condo, even if it is the size of a closet, a best friend, a job, and enough money to survive. But that's all she's doing. Surviving. When Maart starts looking for Irina, she is brought to the attention of Eason. He is intrigued by her and sets out to find her. When he does, he offers to train her since she showed interest in fighting again. When they finally talk, they realize how much they have in common but also learn more about each other's past lives. This was an eye-opening conversation for both of them. I really enjoyed this story. I enjoyed reading more about Irina and more insight into other aspects of this world.
