When Millie, a college professor that has consulted with the FBI on some cases, is called to help with a new case involving a mind control cult that she also thinks might have taken her long lost friend from the past, she jumps at the chance to help. Only to find out that this long-lost friend, Killian, is part of the FBIs team for the case. Millie is upset and feels betrayed, but when Killian explains, she quickly forgives him. They were the best of friends and loved each other ten years ago and quickly fell back into those roles. All the while, they go undercover in the Union of Blessed Souls as a married couple in trouble. I really enjoyed this story, as I have all the books I've read by Kennedy L Mitchell. I love the true crime aspect of them and how the story flows so well from the case to the couple. I loved Killian and Millie's chemistry and how they understood and were there for each other! Received an ARC and give my honest review
