This was an excellent second installment to the Amefyre series. I was fully hooked with this book and after finishing, I'm even more desperate to see where the story leads and ends. New characters were introduced in this book, of whom, took getting used to due to the nature of the FMCs narrative but ultimately, was really happy by the additions. New plots and twists deepened the lore and the world building for me. It truly set itself as a unique world, unlike some fantasies where the world building is uninspired. My only gripe is the way some of the "steamer" scenes were written. I completely understand it will be perfect for some but alas, some of the wording used took me out of the magic. Nonetheless, this book was an incredible extension to the world Sandpiper has created.
