4.5 stars rounded up for GR I'm so grateful to Sandpiper for sending me my second ARC from them! I've read every book by R.A. Sandpiper so far and loved every one, and this was no exception. ❤️ This book was such a pleasant surprise and, considering Sandpiper's previous work, a bit of a curveball, but one that I absolutely loved. We have a murder mystery set in a world inspired by an ancient Greek pantheon, and I adored this concept. The world felt so alive and rich with lore that I could have happily stayed there for much longer just to discover more about its history and mythology. The characters were equally intriguing, each carrying a sense of mystery that left me constantly wanting to know more. They all had depth and felt like fully realised people rather than one-dimensional characters. And the chemistry between our two main characters? So well done. Their connection felt incredibly authentic, and the romance was beautifully written, especially when you consider both of their histories. It developed at a great pace and never felt forced or out of place within the story. The murder mystery itself was incredibly satisfying. There were so many moments where I was desperate to keep reading, and convincing myself to put the book down and go to sleep became a genuine battle. Overall, this is a fantastic book for anyone wanting to dip their toes into romantasy or murder mystery. And if you already love either (or both!) of those genres, I'd absolutely recommend giving this one a read.
