While Delicate Escape had all the elements I usually love (romance, suspense, and found family), it didn’t hit as hard as I hoped. Thea and Shep are both beautifully written characters, and their connection felt genuine. Catherine Cowles excels at crafting tight-knit communities and making you care about every side character, which keeps me excited for the next book. However, the resolution of the intrigue didn’t land for me. I was surprised by the ending, but it felt illogical, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that the expected approach would have been more impactful. Despite that, this was still a solid read, just not my favorite in the series.
