I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. I wanted to love this. I really, really did. I read the prequel to this and I was so completely intrigued I couldn’t not request this ARC when it came up. It took me longer than I wanted to fall in love with this as quickly as I did the prequel. However, certain parts of this came across as rushed, but some seemed drawn out. I felt like there could have been a better balance between the two because this took me far longer to read than I wanted to. Being taken out of the story as I was in parts didn't leave me loving this as much as I'd hoped. I will still be reading book 3, because I'm intrigued enough to continue, but I am reserving my excitement for the moment.
