Penelope is Kelsey Best's assistant and good friend. Because of this Penelope has become a part of the Kingman family by association. She has had a crush on Everett for a while but doesn't think he will give her the time of day due to her size. Everett is a pro football player and has been in love with Penelope for a long time, but sees her as off-limits, so he never makes his move. That is until she asks him for dating lessons. He reluctantly agrees, seeing it as a good way to spend time with her. This was a good story, and I always enjoy the positive plus-sized bodies in this series. I loved that even though Penelope struggles with her body image, she still manages to be very positive and encouraging to others about it. She's also very real about her body and how she looks.
