Man, this book was dark, too dark for my taste, but I really wanted to see how their story progressed after reading the first book. So, I powered through the abusive parts and took some breaks when it got to be too much. I am glad I did because, later on, it became an edge of your seat ride till the finish. I really hated Julian throughout most of this book, there seemed no hope of redemption for him until the end of the book. He will probably always be a bad & violent man, but hopefully not towards Nora. It did help a little to understand him better once his past story was revealed. I was glad to see Nora get a bit of a backbone with Julian, it's too bad that it didn't happen with more frequency and that she wasn't able to maintain her upset with him for longer.
