I actually wanted to like Calvin, but even at the end, I didn't. He did have some great lines like: "It’s adorable how she doesn’t realize she’s mine yet." The book was well written, with a good premise and interesting secondary characters. Hallie is not very bright. Her character was reminiscent of watching someone in a horror film making bad decisions which you yell at them not to do. I am usually very willing to suspend disbelief while reading, but the way their relationship progressed just seemed beyond imagination. Who would allow themselves to be a captive to save a friend from having a one-night stand leaked to their husband? Hallie definitely should have tried to leave his ass and not just submit. Also, how did she not think pregnancy was a likely outcome? Come on, girl. You were in relationships before, so you know how pregnancies happen.
