I thoroughly enjoyed the first half of this book, but then it took a turn for the worse. In the first half Natalie was witty with a naughty sense of humor and had a lot of spirit. Didn't see that much in the 2nd half. Note to self: Tease Sevastyan at earliest opportunity, investigate “consequences.” Recalling the way Sevastyan had slapped my ass, I’d watched online videos featuring grown women stretched over men’s laps, spanked like they were wayward creatures in need of correction. I’d been indignant and outraged! I’d pictured Sevastyan forcing me across his lap for a similar chastisement; he’d once threatened to do exactly that. And as soon as I’d finished masturbating, I’d been indignant and outraged all over again! Until I’d masturbated a second time. The 2nd half was mostly about them exploring the bdsm lifestyle, and whether or not she was really into that scene or not, he didn't want to subject her to it since he thought it would be too demeaning/dirty once he thought of her as his. The storyline of how he would not open up about his past, and since he wouldn't, she believed their relationship was doomed and wanted to call it quits, went on for ages. Instead of focusing on that for half the book, I would have liked to see more character development and time spent with her father. When Sevastyan finally opened up, it was tragic & touching.
