This one was actually really fun! I love Josie and Haeden, and I think they’re really cute together. I really enjoyed this one, and I loved diving back into this silly little world. I think I’m gonna give this one 4.25 stars, and I’m very excited to get to the next one!

I loved Haeden even though he is such a grump lol. Once Haeden allows himself to accept his feelings for Josie, he falls hard, just like all the preceding MMCs do. Those big blue aliens are all incredible, so devoted to their mates. Josie, however, was a selfish bitch through a good portion of the book. She is so unkind and thoughtless towards Haeden. They both have a lot of baggage from their tragic pasts, which influenced their behavior. Haeden doesn't know how to act around her and is hurt by how much she despises him. Yes, he was not kind to her before they were mates, but he was also not cruel or unkind, and part of it stemmed from his fear that she would not survive in such a harsh environment. Josie, on the other hand, is cruel towards him once they resonate for each other. She does eventually realize she has been unfair towards Haeden, and their relationship is good at the end. If it were up to her, she would remain out here in the wild alone, forever. My wants and needs are nothing. The only reason she must return is for the safety of new human females. Her mate is simply an annoyance. He’s made me the center of his world…and isn’t that what I’ve always wanted? A mate who put me before everything? Except it’s Haeden, and that makes things tricky. I know his past, and it makes me realize that I’ve been unfair to him. All this time I’ve been flouncing because I haven’t had a choice in things, and I’ve been tearing him apart. “I’m sorry,” I say softly. “I didn’t realize. Can we…can we try to get along?” He nods, and there’s no smile on his face, but that’s all right. It’s going to take time for either one of us to get used to this situation. “My mate,” he murmurs between licks and nibbles. “I have waited so long for you. To taste you. To pleasure you.” “You have?” His words are melting me more than his tongue is. “I hope…I hope I’m not a disappointment.” I’ve fought him so hard and I’m feeling guilty that I’ve pushed him away for so long. “Never a disappointment. It is everything I have wanted and more.” He’s right - I was looking for words when all along, he’s been a man of actions. Words are easy to say, but actions are everything.
