The story starts out in the current timeline after they awaken the 20 new people from stasis on the ship and Zolaya is helping them get settled by the ocean. Then the story flashes back about 8 years to tell the story of how Ariana and Zolaya got together. Ariana suffers from severe anxiety, and it often overwhelms her. Zolaya is so understanding, patient, sweet, loving, and caring towards her from the very beginning. Ariana is due to have her second child soon and is beginning to feel her anxiety worsen due to the prolonged separation from Zolaya. He is her rock and helps keep her anxiety from spiraling. He makes it back in time for the birth of his 2nd child. It was nice to see her friendship with Marlene.
