This was a fun short story with some humor; their story is told in a flashback. Marlene is not shy or reserved like many of the other humans; she is bold, flirty, and kind. Zennek is shy and reserved; he is surprised to say the least when he resonates with one of the human women. Their daughter is adorable, and they are such a great couple. This series is such a comfort read; I can't help but smile after reading one.
