The book started off with a bang, the first chapter wrecked me, made me shed a few tears. Thankfully, that was the only time. Peter is a tortured soul since an event over 5 years ago, until Sara. She is the only thing that has made the anger and pain lessen since the event. So far, this isn't very dark, but I'm guessing that may change with the next books. Their relationship is very unconventional (to say the least). She seems to have a 6th sense for when it comes to him. They have a connection neither understands, but she is not happy about it and will be in denial for a long time, no doubt. So far I am really liking Peter, he feels bad about what he did to her initially and doesn't want to hurt her further, even though there is a small part of him that wants to punish her for what her husband did (he has held that back so far because he is in love with her). I look forward to seeing how their relationship progresses.
