Sleet Banshee

S.J. Tilly

4.62

Mother-freaking hockey players.

My friends found their happily-ever-afters with a couple of sweet, doting, over-the-top, in-love athletes. They got nicknames like Kitten and Sugar. But me? I got stuck with a dickhead who riles me up on purpose and calls me Banshee.

Yeah, he might have a voice made explicitly for wet dreams. And he might have a body and face carved by the gods. And he might have a level of Alpha-hole that gets me all hot and bothered.

But when he presses my buttons, he presses ALL my buttons. And I'm not the type of girl who takes things sitting down (I mean, I only got caught on my knees that one time. In the museum).

But when my decisions get one of my friends hurt, I can't stop blaming myself. And him. Except he can't take a hint. And I can't keep my panties on.

3.75⭐ Such a cute & sweet hockey romance series. I love the friendship among the FMCs & the ones the men have. Also, many have cute family dynamics as well. I love how they met at the haunted house attraction, such a funny first introduction to eachother. Also, love how she runs into him while she is playing matchmaker with Izzy & Zach. Megan is so funny. Sebastian was great, but also a bit of an ass, with him being all, I don't want a serious relationship, so he can focus on his career. The nickname he gives her is hilarious, considering all the other girls get sweet, cute nicknames. This book had them separated from eachother for long periods that were not even for good reasons. The longest one being 3 months, when Meghan felt guilty leaving her friend at the bar to fool around with Sebastian, and her friend was accosted, and when her friend's bf saw, he got arrested for beating the asshole up. When Meghan shows up at the hospital and his sister turns her away, I felt so bad; she was heartbroken. So throw this man on a platter and call him a snack, because I. Am. Salivating. “Hush. I got you, Baby," a deep voice rumbles into my ear. Then, to my surprise, he drops to his knees. Clasping his hands together in front of him, he literally begs me for forgiveness. “Please, Meghan. Megs. Banshee. My Fire Goddess of Wisdom and Kindness. Please forgive me. I’m so sorry for the things I said. I’m a major dickhole and I’ll owe you a life debt if only you’ll accept my apology.” She must’ve forgotten how much I like the chase, the fight, the challenge. Because instead of snuffing out the spark between us, she just threw gasoline on it. You can run, little Banshee, but you can’t hide. “And as far as what I said last night, I don’t regret it. You’re mine, Baby. You got that? Mine. You can run and force me to chase, or you can just let me catch you. Your choice. But I will get you. Because you're my Banshee.” “You hear me, little Banshee? I love you. I love your feistiness. I love the attitude you give me. I love the tough exterior you show the world. I love your fight, and your humor, and your kisses. I’ve never met anyone like you. I love everything about you. And I love how you make me feel.” His thumbs brush across my cheeks. “You make me feel like a whole person. Like someone worthy of love. You make me a better man. Like I could take on the world and win.” “So you see, when I told this girl that I didn’t want a relationship, that was my fear talking. I was afraid that a girlfriend would distract me, affect my game, take my focus. But I was wrong. Loving you doesn’t make me weaker, it makes me stronger. I’m done pretending that I don’t need you, because I do. I need you, Baby. I need you in my life. By my side.”
