The Pucking Wrong Date

C.R. Jane

4.66

One night of passion turns into lasting obsession in this dark hockey romance from USA Today–bestselling author C.R. Jane.

"If tonight's all I get, then I'd better make it good."

Pop sensation Olivia would do anything to get out from under her mother's thumb and escape the circus that has become her life, if only for a moment. Maybe that's why she says yes to a night with a sexy hockey player who manages to make her dizzy with a single look.

Superstar goalie Walker "Disney" Davis might be every girl's Prince Charming, but behind the pretty-boy exterior is a man who'll do whatever it takes to get what he wants—even if it means crossing a few lines . . .

Walker's fixation should have Olivia running for the hills. He's everywhere she goes, and he keeps saying she's "the one." Despite the insanity, each of their exchanges leaves her falling harder. Wanting Walker might not be right, but it's dangerously, deliciously wrong.

Though I loved Walker, this book wasn't that good for me. It was tough to read how abusive and controlling her mother and Marco (her manager) were to Olivia. That Olivia didn't try to fight back at all was disheartening and frustrating. You can understand, based on how she was raised, why this was the case. It did get depressing reading how resigned to how bad her life is for a large portion of the book. Walker fell into insta love the first time he saw her sitting in the stands and became instantly obsessed. Lincoln remained sweet and caring even through his obsession and tried to show her how much he cared for her. He is a great combination of dirty, sweet, romantic & unhinged. I loved the bromance of Ari, Lincoln, and Walker, and yes, Walker simps hard for Lincoln. Sadly, I did not care for Olivia much. She thinks that she is too broken and has too many issues for anyone to care about her or love her.
