3.5⭐ Alejandro was less of an ass in this book, but still all alpha male. He also was deeply in love with his wife, she was everything to him. He could be overly jealous, possessive and controlling at times but Alana did a good job standing up to him most of the time. This book was quite smutty (not saying that is a bad thing), but I could have used a bit more plot over all. The main problem I had with the book is that the guilty party was quite obvious. Alejandro had all the same information the reader did to clue him in on the culprit but it took him way too long to finally figure it out. One of my favorite characters in the book was Hugo, the body guard. ‘There is nothing in this world I wouldn’t do to keep you safe and make you happy. And you know it.’ She allowed me to be in control, but the truth was that she held all of the power in our relationship. With a single word, she could bring me to my knees, and she knew it. ‘I want to be perfect for you though. I want to be everything you need.’ ‘You already are, princess. I swear I will die a happy man as long as you are by my side. ‘Because he is the man you should be with,’ he shouted. ‘What?’ I blinked at him. I saw a look of anguish flicker across his face. ‘He is a better man for you than I am, Alana. You wouldn’t be in so much danger if you were his wife. You can’t deny that.’ Shit! He was insecure. The King of LA was worried that he wasn’t good enough for me. What the hell! I placed my other hand on his face, my fingers brushing against the dark stubble on his jaw. ‘But I can deny it, and I do. Bobby Conroy is not the man for me. I could spend one thousand years in his company and there would still only ever be you, Alex. I am yours — body, heart and soul, remember?’ ‘You are everything to me.’ ‘You rescued me, Alex, in more ways than you can even imagine.’ ‘No, princesa,’ he said, his voice a low rumble. ‘It’s you who has rescued me. I think that my father has been wrong all along. Love isn’t a weakness. You are my greatest strength, Alana. I can do anything when I have you by my side.’
