Naomi has spent her entire profits from her farm's yield for a fertility shot. She wants a baby to ease some of the loneliness of life at the edge of the universe. Unfortunately for her, the donor she had lined up can't finish the job. What's a lonely, ovulating human to do?

Naomi was a slave for a few years until rescued and given a farm on Risda. She had been there a year before deciding she wanted to have a baby to help with the loneliness and give her someone to love. She gets fertility shots, and the male she had lined up to be the donor backs out on the deal. So what is a girl to do when her fertility window is closing, and she has spent most of her credits on the shot? Go to the Port Custodian's Office, whose job it is to assist the residents of the planet. Ainar is the only one working when she comes in. There is some miscommunication about what kind of help she is asking for. When he finally understands, he thinks one of his colleagues is pranking him. When he finally believes she is serious, he is unsure if he should, but then again, he doesn't want her to go to anyone else to get her pregnant, so he assists her for the rest of his shift lol. He is very committed to make sure she enjoys herself each time (and there are many) Ainar often feels inferior due to his family name is of a very low stature on his home world, and the only options open to him were the military or refuse jobs. Naomi makes it clear to him that she is not expecting anymore then for him to be the sperm donor. Ainar believes her to be his mate, though, and would like nothing more than to be with her forever. Some misunderstandings commence. Ainar is so sweet, caring, and considerate though. Omg, I loved how Ainar's tail was so expressive of how he was feeling; it was absolutely the most adorable thing. This was a very short story, I wish it were longer.
