When She's Merry
Homesteading on the remote farm planet Risda III can be lonely. So when I notice that my neighbor isn't doing so well, I ask for help to give her a Christmas celebration to brighten her spirits.
Unfortunately, the person helping me is Sinath, the most infuriating male alien ever. He's got a weird sense of humor. He doesn't know what a Christmas tree is. He even tried to exterminate my pet rodent.
And he keeps staring at my mouth and yet refuses to kiss me. The nerve.
But Sinath is easy to be around, corny jokes and all. He knows just what my friend is going through. And he's a surprisingly good snuggler.
This is either going to be a complete disaster . . . or the merriest holiday ever.

Sinath works as a Port Custodian, assisting the people on Risda. Devin was kidnapped from Earth and sold to a Messakah who neglected and forgot her to the degree that she would have died if not for other staff members giving her food. She and Sinath met before when he went to help her. One incident was when she thought she had a snake in her barn, but it turned out to be a cute rodent. When Sinath went to dispose of it, she freaked out, took him in as a pet, and named him Jerry. Sinath is actually beyond sweet, cute, earnest, thoughtful, and caring. He is shy and unsure at first, but is honest and upfront with Devin. He also uses humor & jokes to put others at ease, often at his own expense. Devin goes to him for help to cut down a tree to celebrate Christmas with her neighbor, who is suffering from depression; her goal is to try to cheer her up. Sinath convinces her not to kill a tree and offers to buy one that can be replanted. He sees how badly the neighbor is doing and decides to help her as much as he can; it is really sweet & thoughtful of him. Devin & Sinath were adorable together. The three of them celebrating Christmas traditions together was really cute, even though Sinath thought some of the traditions were quite strange.
