This was another sweet story from Dixon. Jrrru is a Praxiian who followed his brother to Risda to work. His brother married a human, and they moved into her house, where Jrrru has been sleeping on the couch. One night Jrrru foolishly took what he thought might be an antidote for Noli (a Praxian aphrodisiac his brother's wife used), which made him incredibly ill. Tabitha finds him extremely ill on her doorstep. Tabitha is not the friendly sort. After her ordeal of being kidnapped and forced into slavery, she has developed a need to protect herself and her home with all sorts of weapons and fortifications. She does not trust Jrrru at first, but also doesn't want to call the Custodians to deal with it; she wants to be left alone and not have to deal with people. Jrru is smitten by her from the start and patiently woos her; it is a slow burn, and they take their time getting to know each other. Jrrru is patient and kind and accepts her for who she is. Tabitha looks forward to his visits, even though she outwardly pushes him away, she doesn't want him to go, it is a sort of test to see his resolve. Though Praxiians aren't my favorite for MMCs I did really like Jrrru.
