This got so dark so quick wtf!! On the day Dell dies, she learns her fiance was not only cheating on her but also planning to kill her on their honeymoon. Aside from feeling a bit bogged down by afterlife rules that are almost immediately subverted, this just wasn't the lighthearted read I was expecting based purely on the vibes of the cover. Dell is also the most chaotic "type A" I've ever encountered. She's apparently too driven and focused to notice anything about anyone around her to the point that she can't even tell her brothers apart? What? I love an unlikeable fmc but even this was too much for me. There are a couple of sweet moments about grief but overall this was not gripping or emotional enough for me. Thanks to Avon for the eARC
