Julian D’Angelo, you pretentious disaster of a man, I adored you. Pot Shot hit me in an unexpectedly personal place. And yes, it’s hilarious. Like genuinely, snort-laugh, “Jesus Christ, Julian” levels of funny. But underneath all the banter, the weaponised flirting, the small-town chaos, and the extremely hot tension, there’s a story here about chronic illness, self-worth, grief, pride, and the exhausting reality of trying to convince the world that your pain is real. This book is messy, warm, horny, compassionate, emotionally intelligent, and very, very funny. It understands that healing is rarely linear, that people are more than diagnoses, and that sometimes love looks like someone learning how to truly see another person.
