After her husband, Jamie, is killed in a store robbery, Poppy is determined to finish his "birthday list." The list that he started with things he wanted to complete by each upcoming birthday. In the process of completing the list, she runs into Cole, the cop that came to her house and told her about her husband's passing. They reconnect, but Poppy is hesitant. She doesn't want to forget Jamie and feels that if she moves on, she will. Cole ends up taking over the case of Jamie's death to try to help Poppy with some closure too. As time progresses, Cole continues to help Poppy with the list and they grow closer and she finally feels like she can give Cole a proper chance. This story was so good! It was heart-wrenching, but there was definitely a light at the end of the tunnel. Poppy went through so much and I was rooting for her to get her happily ever after! I love how Cole just let Poppy lead their relationship and didn't push her to move on.
