A Very Merry Mistake

Lyra Parish

4.28

A sexy cinnamon-roll lumberjack offers me a ride into town, a stay at his cozy cabin, and eventually his bed. All things I can't refuse.

After several flirty glances and heated mistletoe kisses, we create rules: no strings attached and no falling in love. Agreeing to the impossible might be my biggest mistake yet.

I visited the small town for one reason only: to prove a point to my father.

Now I've got a fake boyfriend.

A secret to keep hidden.

And a choice to make that will determine more than just my future.

A Very Merry Mistake is a standalone with a sweet-as-gingerbread happily ever after. This small-town contemporary romance has a dash of grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity, secret identity, a protective cinnamon-roll lumberjack and sassy heroine, and tons of Southern goodness. Fade to black is not included!

While on her way to Merryville, TX, Claire's rental breaks down. She makes the decision to walk the rest of the way even with an incoming storm. Driving by, Jake stops to help Claire, and she refuses his help at first. When she finally agrees, he helps her get to town, and when there's a mix-up with her reservation, he offers for her to stay with him. Claire is thrown off by all Jake's kindness but loves it all the same. They enjoy their time together, and even with their limited time, they both know they want more. But when Claire's real identity and reason for being in Merryville are revealed, Jake feels betrayed. Claire knows she hurt Jake, but can she make things right? 🎅🤶🎄❄️ I really enjoyed this! It was such a cute holiday story with a good dose of spice and grumpy/sunshine, but she's the grump!! 👏 I love how Claire slowly realized what she really wanted out of her life after being in Merryville. Also, I loved how she pushed Jake to enforce his boundaries with Lacy. Received an ARC and give my honest review
