Ted, in his refusal to acknowledge that he wants Goldie, is pretty amusing. When he called her the frothy pink cream puff of doom, I giggled. He also resisted her because he didn't want his brothers catching her scent and trying to sleep with her. Ted definitely has game in his dirty talk. It was amusing how she ended up in the brothers' empty beds, and one bed was too hard and the other too soft, but of course Ted's was just right. I didn't like how insecure Goldie was throughout most of the book; there wasn't much growth or improvement in that direction. It also didn't make much sense to me why she turned Ted away so as not to be a burden for him to take care of her. The first half of the book was really good, but the 2nd half, especially towards the end, went downhill. At the end, the mystery reveal was disappointing. Only one person could be this evil, despicable, and saccharine sweet all at the same time. The frothy pink cream puff of doom. There is a menace behind her greeting, and I know to my bones she is as evil as she is adorable. With that smile and pep, she could get away with murder then be let off with no charges and a ride home. But I’m not fooled. She’s the devil incarnate. “You need to leave,” Ted says in a sleep-roughened voice. Faelords, why does his rejection sound so absurdly sexy? The humiliation starts to creep up from my chest to my neck, but before it fully engulfs my head—drowning me—he continues, “Or so help me blondie, I’m going to do such dirty bad things to you, you won’t be able to walk for a week.” Wait—what? “Does my good girl need more?” His good girl? Again, what the fuck is happening? And why am I nodding so enthusiastically with a pathetic little whimper?
