There was the time before Tessa met Hardin, and then there’s everything AFTER... Life will never be the same. #Hessa

Tessa is a good girl with a sweet, reliable boyfriend back home. She’s got direction, ambition, and a mother who’s intent on keeping her that way.

But she’s barely moved into her freshman dorm when she runs into Hardin. With his tousled brown hair, cocky British accent, tattoos, and lip ring, Hardin is cute and different from what she’s used to.

But he’s also rude—to the point of cruelty, even. For all his attitude, Tessa should hate Hardin. And she does—until she finds herself alone with him in his room. Something about his dark mood grabs her, and when they kiss it ignites within her a passion she’s never known before.

He’ll call her beautiful, then insist he isn’t the one for her and disappear again and again. Despite the reckless way he treats her, Tessa is compelled to dig deeper and find the real Hardin beneath all his lies. He pushes her away again and again, yet every time she pushes back, he only pulls her in deeper.

Tessa already has the perfect boyfriend. So why is she trying so hard to overcome her own hurt pride and Hardin’s prejudice about nice girls like her?

Unless…could this be love?

  • I just want to say that I read this book and despite everyone criticizing I don't believe it is a bad book. If you dont like it dont read it. Simple as that. Not every book ever published has to live up to your expectations. Obviously if its published and making a damn movie its successful in some way. Just because you compare it to other books doesnt make it any worse or any better. Its not the other books nor does it claim to be. So for everyone being negative please stfu. I very much enjoyed this book and at points could not put it down until I was finished with the chapter at least. It was beautifully written. And Anna did an amazing job at portraying what its like to be in this kind of relationship. For everyone saying it was trash because ot promotes abusive relationships can sit the hell down and back off. Speaking from expierience. Its not easy being in a relationship like that. Where you love the other person that even though you know its wrong you overlook it because you love them. Also clearly Hardin has a bad background. I mean hello he literally had to watch his mother get beaten and raped. Obviously thats gonna mess up his brain and put stress on future relationships. All in all while some people say its a terrible book and criticisze into the ground. I absolutely adored it and am very excited to read the rest of the series. Congrats Anna Todd for the success shes recieveing.
