3.5 ⭐ This was a sweet short story. Tassar (a Mesakkah)is such a flirt, and Leilani (a human) likes to constantly talk because her previous owner liked quiet and wouldn't allow her to speak much. Her continuous chatter gives away a lot of her inner thoughts because she doesn't realize she says things aloud sometimes. They marry because he needs the security of marriage to ensure he is not sent back to the prison planet he shouldn't have been sent to in the first place, due to some war issue, and she needs protection that marriage will afford her from having her farmland stolen from her. They make a deal not to have sex until she is ready. Tessar then says, “Then it’s my job to make you ready.” Tesar is almost shipped back to prison, but Leilani ensures he is not with the help of the Lord and his wife.
