X's and O's
One minute I’m cleaning toilets for minimum wage.
The next, I’m waking up from a drug-induced nap with a monster staring down at me.
Kidnapped and seconds from death, I think I’m done for…
Until masked men burst in, murder my attacker, and turn my world upside down.
They call themselves Murder Squad.
A secret brotherhood of broken men who only kill the worst of the worst.
And one of them thinks I’m his wife.
X is unhinged, obsessed, and deadly. A psychopath who hides behind bad jokes and bloodstained fingers.
Whip’s older, grumpy, and used to women paying him to worship them. But when he finds out I’m a virgin, he can’t keep his hands off my plus-size curves.
And Levi? One year of handwritten letters was all it took to fall in love with a man I’d never met. My prison pen pal turned killer, fighting his darkness for a second chance.
But they aren’t the only psychopaths in Saint View.
Someone’s playing a twisted game, leaving rhyming threats and promising to end us all if we don’t stop them first.
With every lie we uncover, every secret we expose, the danger mounts.
Until there’s only one thing we know for sure.
There’s a killer out there.
And this time, he’s hunting us.
X’s and O’s is a dark rom com. It’s an adult, why choose romance, meaning the main character has more than one love interest. You can expect a plus size, tall heroine, psycho heroes, a murder mystery, and a spicy club. This book contains romantic suspense and triggering themes. It is the first book in an ongoing trilogy.

2.5 ⭐ (rounded up because of X) The only MC that I actually liked was X. He was funny and a golden retriever that likes to kill people. Violet's insecurity over he body was so constantly brought up that it became annoying. One would think it would tone down the self-esteem issues a little after three hot men want her, and others show interest as well. Also, not to let Levi explain and just assume it's because of how she looks when she described herself a little already in her letters is obnoxious. The cliffhanger is annoying. I wish I liked the book enough to run and read the next one to find out what happens right away. As a multi-cast duet, I thought the audiobook would be better; at times one of the narrators sounded as though he had a lisp, which took me out of the story. X: The obsessed psycho that he is, he is so sincere about loving Violet and wants to be gentlemanly and woo her. I didn’t know you could fall in love with someone in the space it took for them to pitch a rolling pin at your head. But here I was, utterly and completely in love with a woman who wouldn’t stop throwing things at me. “This is a sex book!” I shouted after her, a grin spreading across my face as I read some more. Holy shit, it was hot sex too. About a group of masked guys, chasing down women in a club game where the winner got to keep them. “Is this what you want?” I shouted, cupping my hand around my mouth to try to make my voice go farther. “You want a masked man who will chase you down and claim you?” She didn’t answer. Just disappeared around the corner. I shrugged, giving up, and going back to the book for further research. If she wanted a masked man, I could give her that. Because of course. Only I would find myself in the middle of a home invasion while masturbating. He stuck his head around the corner and gave me a wolfish grin. “Scale of one to ten. How mad would you be if I licked this thing like a lollipop?” I widened my eyes. He winked at me and tossed it back onto my bed. “Okay, love you!” Then he trotted out of my apartment like whatever the hell had just happened was the most normal thing in the world. I had no idea whether I was flattered, terrified, or just really damn turned on.
