The Throne of Honor and Blood

J. Bree

4.18

In this epic fantasy romance, Prince Soren Celestial, the rightful heir to the throne of the Southern Lands, faces a world torn apart by war and famine. With silver-eyed witches, broken treaties, and a Fates-blessed mate, the stakes are high. However, be warned: this book ends on a cliffhanger and contains material that may be difficult for some readers.

This was the most politically driven fantasy book I have read so far. I don’t normally gravitate towards highly political fantasy but I ended up really enjoying this! I think I need to re-read the 2 novellas and the 2 main novels again to form my final opinion on this book because there is SO much world building. I found myself getting frustrated at parts because I was lost or not fully understanding what was happening so I don’t think I got the full experience reading this book. The world and plot are so unique and creative. I’m truly in awe at the intricate story J Bree was able to construct! I think the spice would have been better off left out of this book because it was a pretty big let down for me. You have to wait for 800-900 pages for a super rushed scene which was so disappointing. I can’t wait for the 3rd book to come out! One of my favorite series of all time.
