Watching Elena finally step into her role as Queen of Ravence with a bit of confidence was my favorite part of this. You can feel the weight of the crown, the war, her people, and the peoples of Seshar pressing down on her decisions, and I loved seeing her grow sharper, braver, and more strategic with every challenge thrown her way. The turmoil of war and sides of The love triangle was very much triangling here, even though this is not a romantasy, the romance subplot here was so good! I am fully invested in seeing how that plays out in book 3. Overall, this was a good second book in the trilogy and worth picking up if you enjoyed book 1! Thanks to NetGalley and the author for an eARC!
