Barbarian Lover
As one of the few humans stranded on the ice planet, I should be happy that I have a new home. Human women are treasured here, and one alien in particular has made it clear that he wants me. It's hard to push away the sexy, flirtatious Aehako, when all I want to do is grab him by his horns and insist he take me to his furs. But I've got a terrible secret—the aliens who abducted me are back, and thanks to the translator in my ear, they can find me. My presence here endangers everyone . . . but can I give up my new life and the man I want more than anything?

I forgot how much I enjoy these books. I love them dearly. I think this is my second favorite IPB book I’ve read so far. I knew when I read Barbarian Alien that I’d love Kira and Aehako, and I was right. Aehako is amazing, and Kira’s badass. I’m interested in finding out what happened to Harlow, so I’m excited for Barbarian Mine! Overall, I give this one 4.5/5 stars, and I’ll probably read it again.

4.25 ⭐ I absolutely love this series so far. They are so much fun to read; I adore all the MMCs, my big sexy blue aliens. So far, all the MCs have very distinct personalities, but what the MMCs all have in common is that they are so devoted to their mates and would do anything for them and always put them first, sigh... Aehako is flirty, kind, playful, sweet, protective, easygoing, caring, tender, charming & good humored. He wants to make her happy since she always seems so sad. He is very observant & intuitive when it comes to Kira. He knows Kira is hiding the real reason she wants to go to the elders' cave, and he plans on finding out what it is. Kira is an introvert, sad, lonely, serious & often keeps herself apart from everyone else. Aehako's nickname for her is sad eyes, since she was rarely happy until they resonated. She is sad because she is barren and therefore won't resonate and get a mate. She is afraid the tribe will not accept her if they find this out. They are such a great couple together. This worries me. She wants to leave so badly she is willing to endure my flirtations? She is indeed troubled by something. “But I do know that living in fear of what might happen prevents us from enjoying what we have today.” “I am interested in you. All of you. Your sad eyes, your soft smiles, your tears, your courage, and your worries. I am at your side now, and I will be at your side until you tell me to leave. I do not need a khui to tell me who is the mate for me. You are mine and I will take every moment with you as a gift.” “But what about—“ “If my khui resonates for someone else? I will not let it.” He grins, utterly confident. “My heart is for you and you alone.” “That’s not how it works, Aehako.” “You were mine the moment you landed on this planet, Kira,” Aehako says. “It does not take a khui to tell me that. Nor will I let anyone take you from me. So, come, we shall remove this shell from your ear and free you from worry, and then you will fall into my arms and lick every inch of my skin to show me your appreciation.” "All I know is that you are my mate, and I will not listen to anyone or anything – even my khui – that says otherwise.” I decide right then and there that I will act a fool around her if it will only bring a happy look to her face. I will do anything for her. Is this why she holds me at arm’s length when it’s clear she is desperate to be loved? That she craves affection the way I crave her smiles? There’s such misery and heartbreak in her eyes. She truly thinks I shall cast her aside now that I find she cannot create life in her belly? “What if I told you it did not matter to me if you could have kits or not?” Her small brows furrow. “But you said you wanted a family. I wouldn’t deprive you of that.” “Do not worry on my behalf, Sad Eyes. There are no children without resonance, and now I do not have to worry about another male snatching you out of my grasp.” I stroke her cheek gently. “A few moons ago, I had resigned myself to a lonely life of hunting and the only companionship that of my hand.” My crude words make a small, horrified laugh erupt from her, and I continue. “Now, I have met you and I see a life ahead of me of laughter, and caresses, and loving. Does it matter to me that we will never resonate? It does not. Just to have you in my life is enough for me. You are my heart, Kira, and you should be my mate.” I nod. “I saw you and thought, if ever there was a female that needed a male to make her smile, it was you. And that we would be perfect together.”

So i really loved this one... until the end. The ending knocked off a lot of enjoyment for me. Aehako was so sweetttt, and I loved watching Kira come out of her shell. The drama and stakes in this one were so fascinating to me. Butttt then it got to end and it flopped. Part of why i enjoyed this one so much was because Kira was barren and they didnt resonate. I liked that representation, the fears she had over it, etc. I liked that a lot. But in the end, they resonated and her womb is magically healed. I wished it hadnt, their love story was utterly beautiful without it. So that ending soured it for me. Overall, I did enjoy it, and I will be continuing this series. This one just wasn't it for me, unfortunately.
