Thank you to Thomas Nelson Fiction and NetGalley for this ALC in exchange for an honest review! ——— If you are looking for a book full of delicious food and drink descriptions, dedicated dads, thick tension between our competitive main characters, small-town meddling, and lots of silly banter, this may be for you. However, there were a couple of things that fell short for me. As someone who isn’t a fan of text-messaging sequences or a heavy social media presence in fiction, this book had a lot of hashtags. I also questioned the validity of the relationship, as I’m unsure if would’ve even taken root if it weren’t for Daphne’s severe Anglophilia. There were some enjoyable moments, but all in all, I don’t think this was the book for me.
