  This book fits the criteria of a cozy, small-town murder mystery, but it is dreadfully boring. We spend so much of this book having idle chitchat about fostering pets, decorating, vintage fashion, and cooking that our killer barely has any screen time. The ending “ah hah!” moment feels incredibly rushed, as if the author forgot that the murder was the whole damn point. I liked the De Luca family dynamic, but there are so many plot points left unresolved at the end that I just feel dissatisfied. Also, most lukewarm love triangle ever. Blah.
