I was pretty intrigued by the description and worldbuilding but really disappointed by the execution. It absolutely failed to thread the consent needle (in a way where it seems clear nonconsensual sex was not the intended kink????) and the narrative kept calling attention to consent in a way that just made the needle-non-threading more and more obvious. Also, wtf was with <spoiler>making the man grovel in the third act for not being utterly honest with the woman chaining him to a bed and assaulting him</spoiler>. I spent the whole book waiting for her to come to a realization of what she was doing but apparently not!!!!! Please just commit to your premise and write the scenario as messy as it transparently was. It could have been really hot but just ended up off-putting. Also side point but the lead being 21 was so ridiculous that I just pretended it said 31 instead. Made no sense otherwise.
