One night a bunch of spiny balls containing alien worms fall to earth. We go on an adventure with teen Shinichi, whose quick thinking means alien Migi doesn't make it to his brain and takes over his body. I really enjoyed the horror concept of this story, intermingled with funny aspects. I liked seeing Shinichi and Migi's relationship develop and I really felt this is how a teenage boy would react to having an alien for a hand. Some of the 'scene changes' were a little stark and confusing. It sometimes felt like something wasn't quite finished before the next bit started. I liked the mixture of artwork, from the simple pen drawings to the softer watercolour styled pages. I'll definitely be seeking out the rest of the Parasyte series and seeing what Shinichi and Migi get up to. I read this as an ARC for an honest review
