I personally didn't think this was Rebecca F. Kenney’s best work, but the world and story were definitely interesting! I really liked the soul-ripping plot - it was such a unique concept. That said, I felt there could’ve been more chemistry between Noémie and Gideon; there wasn't very much heat between them. But I love Kenney's books, so I will happily continue the series, even though this one didn’t fully click for me.
