Split Second #1

Split Second

Sophie McKenzie

3.42

Bound together by the devastating consequences of a terrorist attack on a London market, teenagers Charlotte (Charlie) and Nat appear at first to have much in common. But, as Charlie gets closer to Nat and his family, she begins to wonder if perhaps he knows more about the attack than he has let on. Split Second is an action-packed thriller that shifts between the perspectives of its two main characters as their courage and their loyalties are tested to the limit.

I would give this 3.5 but can’t. I liked this book. I read it a couple of years ago (I’m 18 now) and it’s as good as I remember. The plot was good while not the interesting I could still feel myself not wanting to put the book down and I really like the writing style. The way that Nat and Charlie’s relationship (I guess) is kind of explored and developed is very cringe worthy but from what I can gather that’s what relationships are like during teenage years. While some plot twists I called like Riley being the commander others I didn’t which helped with the engaging aspect of the story.
